All content belonging to The Fabled Bakery, including photographs, cake designs, illustrations, written content, recipes, tutorials, branding and other original material, remains the intellectual property of The Fabled Bakery unless otherwise stated.
Our cake designs, photographs and written content must not be copied, reproduced, adapted, distributed or used for commercial purposes without our prior written permission.
We are proud of the creativity and work that goes into every design and ask that our original work is respected.
-
Cake consultations for weddings are available by appointment where required. Consultations can be arranged by contacting The Fabled Bakery directly by email, telephone or through our social media platform messaging.
Consultations are intended to discuss your requirements, cake design, flavours, portions, dietary requirements, venue details and any other relevant aspects of your order. Where cake samples or tasters are requested, these may be available by prior arrangement and may incur an additional charge.
A consultation is not always necessary, and orders may be placed without an in-person consultation where appropriate.
-
A booking is confirmed once the required deposit or payment has been received and the order has been accepted by The Fabled Bakery.
Because we are a small independent bakery, dates and production time are reserved specifically for each customer. Once a booking has been confirmed, we may turn away other work for the same date. Customers are therefore encouraged to check all order details carefully before confirming their booking.
-
Please inform us of any allergies, intolerances or dietary requirements at the time of ordering. We may be able to provide products suitable for certain dietary requirements, subject to the ingredients, equipment and facilities available to us.
-
Cupcake bouquets and other decorated products are handmade and individually created. Due to the nature of handmade decoration, no two products will be completely identical. There may be small variations in colour, piping, arrangement and decorative details however we will always aim to create the agreed design and maintain the overall appearance and colour scheme discussed when ordering.
Cupcake bouquets should be transported carefully and kept level. They should be stored in a cool, dry environment away from direct sunlight and excessive heat. They should not be left in a hot vehicle.
For the best quality and freshness, cupcakes should be consumed as soon as reasonably possible after collection or delivery. Specific storage and consumption guidance will be provided where appropriate.
-
A deposit may be required to secure your booking. The amount of the deposit will be confirmed at the time of quotation or booking. Any deposit and payment terms applicable to your particular order will be clearly communicated before the order is confirmed.
For larger celebration and wedding cakes, the remaining balance will normally be due no later than 14 days before the agreed collection or delivery date, unless otherwise agreed in writing. Work on the cake may not begin until the balance has been paid in full. We accept payment by the methods stated on your invoice or order confirmation.
Please note that deposits are used to secure your date and cover preparatory work and therefore may be non-refundable where an order is cancelled. Cancellation and refund arrangements will depend on the circumstances and the amount of notice provided.
-
If you need to cancel your order, please contact The Fabled Bakery as soon as possible.
As cakes and baked goods are generally made specifically to order, cancellation may result in the loss of some or all of the amount already paid, particularly where ingredients have been purchased, preparation has begun or the date has been reserved exclusively for your order. Any refund due will be considered in accordance with the circumstances of the cancellation and applicable consumer law.
Where an order is cancelled close to the agreed collection or delivery date, a refund may not be possible.
-
If you need to move your event or celebration to another date, please contact me as soon as possible. The Fabled Bakery is a small business and has other orders to complete, we will always try to accommodate a new date where our availability allows. It must be noted that a change of date is not automatically guaranteed. If the requested new date is unavailable, the order may be treated as a cancellation, and the applicable cancellation terms will apply. Where a date change is agreed, any revised date will be confirmed by The Fabled Bakery.
-
The Fabled Bakery offers delivery to customers within the Luton area free of charge.
Delivery outside the Luton area may be available and will be subject to an additional delivery charge based on distance. Any delivery charge will be agreed with you before your order is confirmed.
For wedding cakes, we will agree a suitable delivery time with you in advance. Where appropriate, we may liaise with your venue or event coordinator regarding access and delivery arrangements. In this circumstance, please ensure that someone is available to receive the cake at the agreed delivery time and that the delivery address and any relevant access information are accurate. We will require a signature from the person receiving the cake to confirm that the cake is acceptable. Once the cake has been handed over to the customer, venue or another nominated person, responsibility for the cake passes to the recipient.
We will always make reasonable efforts to deliver your order at the agreed time. However, circumstances outside our control, including severe weather, road closures, traffic disruption, accidents or other unforeseen events, may occasionally cause delays.
-
Customers collecting their cakes will receive appropriate packaging and, where necessary, instructions for safe transportation and storage. We strongly recommend transporting celebration and tiered cakes in a suitable vehicle and placing the cake on a flat, stable surface. Cakes should not be placed on car seats or held on a person's lap during transportation.
Once a cake has been collected and has left The Fabled Bakery's possession, responsibility for its safe transportation and handling passes to the customer.
We cannot accept responsibility for damage caused after collection as a result of transportation, incorrect handling, unsuitable storage, heat or other circumstances outside our control.
-
Where The Fabled Bakery provides a cake stand, display item or other equipment for hire, the applicable hire charge and refundable security deposit will be confirmed before the booking. Hired equipment must be returned in the condition in which it was provided and within the agreed return period. The customer is responsible for hired equipment while it is in their possession.
If equipment is returned damaged, incomplete, excessively dirty, or is not returned within the agreed period, the security deposit may be retained in whole or in part to cover the resulting loss or costs.
Where equipment is returned by post or courier, the customer is responsible for ensuring that it is securely and appropriately packaged. The Fabled Bakery cannot accept responsibility for damage caused during return transportation.
-
Although we will always do our best to fulfil confirmed orders, circumstances outside our reasonable control may occasionally affect our ability to provide an order as planned. These may include severe weather, power failures, transport disruption, illness, accidents, venue closures, public emergencies or other unforeseen circumstances.
If an event occurs that affects your order, we will contact you as soon as reasonably possible and work with you to find an appropriate solution.
-
If you have any questions about your order, our products, ingredients, delivery, collection or these policies, please contact The Fabled Bakery before placing your order wherever possible.
